We Offer Two Options For Same-Day COVID Testing

PCR Test

COVID of Chicago makes virus testing for international travel a breeze. We use the Accula SARS-Co-V-2 test at our clinic. This is a molecular PCR test, which uses a nasal mid-turbinate swab specimen collected from patients. We commonly see patients traveling to Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Italy, the United Kingdom and Japan.

Schedule an appointment, drive up to our drive-thru testing center, and we’ll send you a PDF with your results (and any other travel documentation needed) within two hours of your testing appointment.

COVID of Chicago is a new clinic. As such, we are not in-network with any insurance providers at this time. All COVID-19 testing is self-pay only.

Same-day PCR testing costs $375. This covers the test itself, the clinicians time, the lab cost, and expedited lab processing.

If you have questions, email info@covidofchicago.com and someone on our team will get back to you.

COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test

The COVID-19 rapid antigen test offers a more affordable choice for those who need answers immediately. This test can be read at our on-site lab and texted to you within 30 to 60 minutes. We use the latest FDA EUA rapid antigen tests.

These tests look for the presence of the COVID-19 RNA.

Frequently Asked Questions

We use the Accula SARS-Co-V-2 and Cue PCR tests at our clinic. Both tests use a nasal mid-turbinate swab specimen collected from patients. Anterior nasal sampling is less invasive than the traditional nasopharyngeal (NP) swabs used at most testing centers, yet are believed to be every bit as accurate.

PCR tests are the gold standard for COVID-19 testing. We use the Accula SARS-CoV-2 test and Cue test at our clinic. Both tests have high sensitivity and specificity rates of greater than 98 percent.

Patients who receive the rapid antigen test will have their results texted to them within 30 to 60 minutes.

We use the Accula PCR test by Mesa BioTech, as mentioned here in the WSJ. This is the same test used in the NFL to get their players tested.

We use the Sofia SARS-CoV-2 antigen FIA by Quidel test and the BD Veritor antigen test. These tests look for the presence of the COVID-19 RNA.

According to the FDA EUA, the rapid tests have a 99.5% agreement with the PCR lab swabs. We feel this number should be a bit lower, as the PCR test remains the gold standard for testing. Please read the test fact sheets to help you make a decision.
